video evaluation
hey guys my last video blog is on the youtube site for clanvid so check it out to hear what happened behind the scenes and hopefully soon we will release our outtakes! thanks to everyone who came to watch it too!

clanvid are a go!
ok guys so hope everyone has had a great x mas and i know i have!
firstly since we have been back clanvid has met up a couple of times and annoyingly enough we seem to have made some significant changes to our performance again!
As you know we are splitting this into 3 different areas for our audience;
Comedy - me
Politics - dan
Art house - clem
Within each of these our videos have changed as with my comedy instead of being something aimed towards the female audience but could be offensive (meaning i dont really want to say what it was as it was prett crude) so now we had a talk and decided on making our own channel called BOBCAST which is a male version of the channel called Babecast. This channel itself is basically a bunch of babes taking phone calls or texts and the person on the end of the phone can issue commands shall we say to the female avatar on tv. Were going to put ourselves in the 'babes' positions however call ourselves BOB hence the name bobcast. We will have 3 scenes for each of the bobs one in the shower one on a bed and the other will be either in the kitchen or the lounge.
For the politics piece, we have changed too! we were originally planning an interview with anne widdicombe and addressing certain issues, however we then changed to using David CAmeron and splicing scenes of him to answer our questions.
The art house is still the same only the method has changed as we are now going to be using a still picture and we will project it on the screen and leave ablank book infront with simple directions to write what they see. This is one of our main focus's as we loved the idea of hypermediacy and wanted to use this effect within looking at an artificial window yet make the audience watch it and see what happens.

clanvid launches
ok guys so we have a name and its CLANVID! we are now officially a group and now we need to come up with a performance involving the internet or at least thats where we wanna head. so our aim will be to look mainly at what is a worthwhile performance as the world of youtube can make anyone famous and who knows maybe we could be on there? ha check out our website clanvid.tk

Week 4 - Is it cool to be cool? I'm confused?!
ok so today were thinking about the idea of being 'cool' and what the definition of cool means?
Even though exploring different variations of this word, i find that there is no exact meaning for it. Everything in life seems to have to have a meaning behind it. For example any action any piece of drama or anything that happens today must have a reasone behind why it exists and what the hidden messages are and what makes it 'cool' or 'un-cool' to its target audience.
For example looking at the continuing war in Iraq we can seperate ourselves intotwo different opinions, being that the war politically is incorrect and thousands of soldiers are dying, the native people of Iraq are suffering and its all a race to gain possession of the oil reserves out there! negatively this is 'un-cool' and most people would agree in saying that.

However some people would look at it seeing the bloodshed and violence being used with explosions and tanks missiles and guns etc and this can be seen as 'cool'.
Within the video from south park we see that schools use the word 'cool' to segregate groups of people from others and can be used to describe people.
I cant really say any more about this word as there are so many different meanings for it depending on the person and context its used in.

week 3 - old school techno
ok so this week we looked at older methods of virtuality and i would have to include the video that ian (my tutor) posted of the film Videodrome, which is really trippy and funny as its from the 70's or 80's i think and has the most obscure view on virtuality within televisions. Looking back at the older technologies it always fascinates me as i think in the last 20 years technology grows so fast that previous predictions of what the future will hold is useless and even now we could think we are stupid in the future because when i get older and have children etc I will look back and be amazed at how crap i pods and laptops were way back when ha ha!
